The year is 1962.
Krushchev. Kennedy. It is the climax of the Cold War.
The Soviet Union has smuggled missiles into Cuba which are well within range of any American city. The US Navy has declared a naval blockade around the island to prevent more nuclear missiles from arriving on America’s doorstep. The Cold War is on the precipice of catching fire.
Over the course of a week, the world would watch in horror as letters went back and forth from Washington DC to the Kremlin. Children practiced hiding under their school desks in case bombs fell from the sky. The hangover of Hiroshima was still well and truly seared into the cultural memory.
Of course, the crisis was averted. But what it did show was that a lag in communication almost threw the world into a nuclear war. In the aftermath of that week in October 62, both America and the Soviet Union agreed upon the importance of better, more immediate communication. The following year, the Moscow-Washington Hotline was created, which still exists today. For the first time, the two countries were able to communicate in real time, which meant that conflicts did not draw out, leaving more time to become cynical and standoffish.
That was the closest the world ever came to nuclear war. And why have we never strayed so close since? Simple. It is the power of the phone.
This principle filters down from global politics into the world of economics as well. Every single business owner can recall an instance where a missed phone call, or an unopened voicemail has cost them money, a client… in the most extreme situations, it can be the difference between a business succeeding, or crumbling.
At Manopark, we believe in the power of the phone. Our Telstra Phone Systems are designed to mitigate any risk; whether it be allowing people to talk to avoid global catastrophe, or simply making sure a deal can be struck in time. Here are some of the benefits a Telstra Phone System can provide to your business.
Never be Misunderstood Again
Our phone systems provide crystal clear quality, ensuring that the person on the other end of the phone feels like you are right there with them. And that level of clarity typically translates into both parties feeling heard and understood. We believe that good telecommunications systems are the bass guitar of a business: When it is doing its job, you don’t know it is there. When it stops, the entire band falls apart.
Never Miss a Memo Again
Our Telstra Phone Systems code all of the analogue data of a phone into a digital bundle. That means it can get sent at lightning speed, rather than relying on the slower telephone system. Once it is digitised, it can be re-routed to your mobile, your office, wherever you desire. It is quick, it is easy, and it is at your fingertips.
Never Hit The Wrong Button Again
Our Telstra Phone Systems are entirely customisable. If you need a button that will immediately transfer the call to a different handset, we can do that. If you need a button that will re-route the call to your mobile, we can do that. If you need a button which will order you a Number 7 with extra prawns from the takeaway shop on the corner, we could do that too. The power is entirely in your hands.
You might think that we love the humble telephone too much. We would disagree. It has saved the world, making it a better place to live. It will do the same for your business.
